Fair use: sustained heavy volume is slowed, then queued. You are never billed for overage.
What fair use actually means
Every plan includes a daily and billing-period volume of cloud reasoning. If you pass it, three things happen, in this order: your tasks drop to standard priority, then they queue, then sustained heavy use pauses until the limit resets. The app tells you each time. We never issue a surprise invoice.
- Overage charges
- None — nothing is billed automatically
- Credits
- Optional and prepaid — used for images, and for chat past your included volume on plans that allow it
- Over the limit
- Slowdown, then queue
- Notice before slowdown
- In the app
- Cancel
- Anytime, effective at period end
Straight answers
Do I need my own API key?
No. Model access is part of the subscription.
Are there credits?
Only if you buy them. Chat is included in the plan. Images in Create are priced per image and paid from a prepaid balance you top up; nothing is charged automatically.
How are images priced?
Each image model has a fixed price per image, shown beside the model before you create. It is paid from prepaid credit, never from a token meter and never as an invoice.
What happens if I use too much?
Your tasks slow down or queue under fair use, and you see it in the app before it happens. You will not receive a surprise bill.
Where does the work execute?
Reasoning runs in the cloud. File and command work runs on your own computer, and only after you approve it.
Do my files leave my device?
Only the files the agent opens and reads. Command output may also be sent back to the model. Files it never opens stay on your machine.
